    Comments:

I was sitting on the fence for a few months about buying a bike in general. I was a runner( a few half marathons a year), but it was becoming more difficult for me to keep up that pace. During the hot humid mid Atlantic summers, running would completely drain me. Not to mention the toll I was beginning to feel in my legs. Realizing I wasn't exercising much at all, I decided to give biking a try. I did quite of bit of research into the style of bike I wanted and went to a bike shop to try out the 7.2 FX. I didn't want to spend to much on my first bike just in case I didn't care for biking. I even considered getting a bike from a department store. After trying one, I realized it was worth the few extra dollars to get something nice. I have not been disappointed. In less than 3 weeks I have already ridden over 200 miles and have enjoyed it. I do not feel drained after exercising and am actually refreshed. I would ride more if I had the time. I look forward to my rides and am motivated to exercise again. For someone looking for an alternative to running. I would strongly recommend getting this bike. The only draw back is the seat was uncomfortable at first. But the more I ride and aftere a few minor adjustments it has become less of an issue.

I really like this bike. It is my first bike in years, but I am quite impressed. It is fairly light weight and has a smooth ride. I know it can be changed, but the grips are a bit too gel like for my taste. My initial test drive didn't realize it, but they become slick and somewhat uncomfortable on longer rides. The gears and overall mechanical feel of the bike are amazing. I went with the 7.2 over the 7.1 for the more modern and light design.

      Comments:

Ive been running 4 times a week for a while now but wanted to add biking to the mix since the running eventually starts to take its toll on your knees and stuff. I bought this Trek after owning one many years back that I liked. This is a great bike and im very hapy with it. The components are excellent, everything works smoothly, and the bike is fast. Its a quality bike all around. I feel the 7.2 model is worth the upgrades over the base model. You get a better crank, better pedals, and I believe a better derailer. The only negatives would be the uncomfortable stock seat and the fact that the bike is supposedly a hyrid but I can tell you right now that off road it would NOT work well at all! It doesnt take bumps that great on the street and really jars you if you hit a bump or whatever. Its a stiff bike and frame. Strong, but not very giving. So, IMO this is a street bike for pavement and thats it. Otherwise, I LOVE my Trek! Highly recommended for pavement or fine gravel use.

I bike around 22 miles a day for my commute to work and ever since I got Trek 7.2 there was no looking back . I was kinda worried initially whether it would carry me well as I'm on the heavier side. But the bike is absolutely fine with all those Seat might be a little bit uncomfortable in the beginning but will blend in after a while Loved the light weight of the bike. This is my first after very long time This is the best bike I have rode in my entire life Even though i got a non disc version the brake is absolutely a life saver as it did save my thrice already (which made me write this review) I can't think of anything that is not good about it absolutely loving it and this just made me love the whole idea of biking around

          Comments:

I bought a 7.2FX a month ago, and I use this bike 2-3 times a week at 20-30 mile bike rides for fitness purposes (Up to 170 Miles so far). I find that the bike goes relatively fast, I average around 17MPH (I know my abilities are a big factor in that, but the weight seems to help, and the wider tires I don't feel are detrimental.). The bike is light. The wheel width is great on the crushed limestone trails in Wisconsin. The seat I think is fine for 20-30 miles, but any further might require an upgrade or a few breaks during the trip. I don't mind the handlebars, frequent riding beyond 40 miles would require an upgrade for more hand positions, but the handlebars that come on the bike are correct for this bikes intended purpose. The only issue I have is occasionally the vibration through the forks to the handle bars on some rough parts of the trail. But this may be the fact I have the tires near maximum pressure. Overall based on my 1 month experience, the bike is very good for its intended purpose. And if I wanted to go further (without buying a road bike), I feel it is worthy of some minor upgrades to the handle bars and seat.

Over 800 miles now and not a problem. Comfortable seat and riding position. My back does not hurt a bit nor does my rear. Added some bar extenders which helped prevent finger numbness and gives a better riding position. Keep tire pressure up -70#s or so and it rolls well. Used it 40 miles on a very muddy C&O canal ride and it performed great. Good all around bike.

After being off a bike for 15 years this bike was the one I wish I had when I had to get off one. A smooth ride on pavement, and ease of operation make this bike a good one or the recreational or commute. I did a lot of research before getting this bike and for the money this bike was a winner all the way around. If you are looking for a bike that will make your commute, and relational ride a pleasure the FX 7.2 is a great choice. There are a number of components that may not be the very best but, the quality of the components on this bike will service you for years. Overall a good bike for the money!

                Comments:

This bike is well made and easy to ride. I have put about 150 miles on it and truly enjoy riding it. The seat is, as noted, not comfortable after more than 10-12 miles. I got around that by taking a 10-15 minute break. I have not had any problem with shifting, braking or other mechanical problems. I will say the frame is durable. I got distracted after putting this on my car rack and did not strap it in. It departed the pattern at about 70-75 MPH on I-64W one Friday afternoon. It took me a while to notice it and the back track to find it. I expected the worst but it only cost me a new seat and new pedals. No other damage.

I picked up a True Blue 2014 7.2 FX about a month ago and can't stop riding it. It's much lighter than what I used to have and, obviously, a lot faster. I've seen some complaints about the seat from other commenters, but after about 200 miles, I can't complain.
